God’s Purpose and Plan; A Test of Faith

                   This article I wrote for my English Creative Writing subject. I chose their story because when I heard about it, something inside my heart that I can’t explain. Let me share my imaginary story about the married couple. This is a picture of what I heard and imagined, a real life romance.  Shane and Gideon marriage has inspired me so much. At first glance, such a relationship might sound like nothing more than fantasy. I never knew and realized that a love like this could exist, in spite of their cultural differences in life.

                   The perfect love story in the Bible is about the love of Jesus Christ to us. I can’t help it but cry when I think of all the Lord has done for me. 1 Corinthians 7:1,” … it is good for a man not to touch a woman.” A woman is only espoused to one man, same thing with the man; he is only espoused to one woman. It clearly states that there is no boyfriend and girlfriend according to the scriptures. 1 Cor. 11:8,” For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.”

                   They were going to Baguio, the girl remembered later. There were six of them, two boys and four girls, carrying sandwiches, snacks and juices. While on their way, Ruth and Cezka talked with each other.

                         “Do you know about the wedding of Shane and Gideon?” Ruth said.

                         “Yeah, I heard about it and I heard that it was beautiful.” Cezka said.

                         “It’s not just beautiful but it was so amazing and it inspired me a lot.”

                         “Oh! Really, why?

                   Before the wedding, Shane wrote a letter at the age of sixteen and she gave it to her dad after. The letter was addressed to her future husband someday.

                         “Dad, can you keep this letter for me?” Shane said brightly.

                         “What about that letter? Why will I keep it?” her dad said.

                         “This letter is about my future husband and I want you to keep and read it on my wedding day.”

                    Suddenly, as time passed by, one bright morning in the sunrise, there was a Chinese guy who visited a camp meeting last April 2012. He was actually targeting someone to court which is Shane. So he approached her dad asking permission if he could get to know his daughter. He was so nervous he almost didn’t go through with it. All he needed to do was ask a simple question, five little words, and yet at that time they seemed to be the five most momentous words ever.

                          “Good morning sir. To come straight to the point, Sir, I would like to tell what I feel about your daughter Shane and I would like to ask permission if there’s a chance that I could get to know her?”Gideon nervously said.

                          “Why do you want to marry her?”Her dad said.

                          “Well, I honestly love her and I want to be with her for the rest of my life.”

                          “Okay, then prove it to me. But let’s talk about this after the camp, for me to be sure if you are serious and if you will last until the day of the camp.”

                          “Thank you, Sir. Thank you so much!” Gideon brightly said.

                   The girl rarely goes out as herself. She was an old fashioned beautiful girl with long hair. She has had a passion for music and writing since a very young age. As she grows older, her faith and believe in God did not change. She never flirts with other men. She was a virtuous, divine woman, so strong and true compare to other girls. There’s more maturity in her compared to other girls, her timid personality traits are often set her life.

                  The man is a Chinese guy, quite boy who has strong faith in God. He is a good man, honest, faithful and trustworthy. His parents taught him a good character; provide things honest in the sight of all men. His serious manner is the best not to doubt in his intentions. He is not prone to flirtation but looks for a genuine and everlasting relationship.

                  A pleasant afternoon, cooling the guest and family members, sweet strains of an old fashioned music drifted through the crowd. Motion like the spirit of that wind whose soft stun deepens slumber. On their wedding day, her dad read the letter to all people which were addressed to her husband.

                        “First of all, I would like to thank you all for coming in my daughter’s special day. Thank you so much for those who helped and organized well their wedding, for making it a memorable one! As the father of the bride it’s my privileged to make the first speech. Marriage will teach you many things. I would like congratulate Gideon and my beautiful daughter, I pray that you’ll stay faithful and keep serving the Lord. Gideon, I now give to you the authority and responsibility of my daughter. Promise me and to God that you’ll love and take care of her with all your life. I hope that you will be able to keep my daughter in the lifestyle in which she has become accustomed. Build a Godly family and follow what the Bible says. And now I would like to grant my daughter’s special request to me, it is to read this letter I’m handling right now. She wrote this letter back four years from now, when she was sixteen years age. I don’t understand how our God so divine, truly answers pray.” Then her dad began to read the letter emotionally.

                 The music faded and her dad smiled at the assembly and look at his daughter and her husband. Soft vibrations of verbal melody, like the sound of a golden bell rung far down under the humming waters.

                 Then suddenly, the married couple stepped up to the microphone and her husband cried and said, “I don’t know what to say or do. I am totally speechless for what I heard; I’m just so surprised about all of this. I can’t say anything at all but there’s only one thing I can say (while he stare his wife), I will be loyal, will take care of you and love you with all my heart. I promise to serve, honor, comfort, hold you close, prize you above all others and remain  faithful to you all the days of our lives,” he emotionally said to his wife.

                  Then the crowd began to cheered and clapped for them. Not only was the married couple extremely emotional that time but also the guests and their families. With these tearful moments, they make people realized that prayers do come true. A test of faith, love shakes like a windy reed heart better than any other romantic fairy tales.

                 Our Father knows what best for us. God is too wise to be mistaken. Both she and the Chinese man prayed for one thing, to be married to someone who has strong faith in the Lord. To someone, who remain and kept themselves chaste and untouched until marriage. In spite of their different backgrounds, they met with same beliefs, their heart where fully devoted to Christ.

                  It’s so rare to see a marriage like this; truly God holds our futures in His hand if you are saved, so don’t live as those who have no hope. Within God’s plan is included a purpose for each saved person. Everything happens for a reason and in God’s time, plan and purpose. All things happen in God’s perfect time remain faithful and diligent, Ecclesiastes 3.

                           “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”(James 1:22)

    Congratulations to Shane and Gideon. I am blessed! Glory to God! 🙂 I hope you like the story I wrote about you. God bless..

The Only Way…

Everyone has his own point of view and opinion on how to get to heaven. Some may say, “I’ll do good things to others,” and others may say, “I’ll join a religion so that I may enter heaven.” But, with so many different opinions regarding the way to heaven, we get confused. We keep on asking, “How do I really get to heaven?” Are all opinions correct? Definitely not. Then let’s take a look what the Bible says on each of them.

Good works: Others claim that they are already good and going to heaven when they die. But the Bible says, “There is none righteous, no, not one”-Romans 3:10. Even though there’s a lot of good works that you’ve committed but still the sin that you’ve done is still in you. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”(Romans 3:23) We are still living in the flesh, “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” (Ecclesiastes 7:20), sin. The Bible says that good works cannot bring you to heaven.

Religion and Tradition:  While others say that good works can bring them to heaven, some say that joining a “so-called religion” and following their religion can bring them to heaven. This belief is not in the line with the Bible because it says that “Forasmuch as ye know that ye are not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;” (1 Peter 1:18). According to Colossians 2:8,”Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” The Bible clearly states that religion and tradition cannot take away the sin from you. Your church leader may say that doing so and so will somewhat “lessen” your sin, but the truth is, it can never be. It’s just a man made organization, nothing more.

Prayer: Others may say that prayer can save you from hell, but come to think of it. What if you die now and you did not pray, are you still going to heaven? Common, don’t even say that you’ll let your family to pray for your soul because you are deceiving yourself. What about those who were murdered and have unknown identity? Who will pray for them? Those who have no money to give them who “pray for souls?” God will not create a way that is so unfair.

Accepting Christ as your personal savior will not save you either. How can you accept Christ as your personal savior?? First of all, you are a sinner and not clean then who are you to accept Christ as your personal savior?  Is there a verse in the Bible that says acceptance can save you?

These opinions may seem OK, but they are all wrong.

“Then how do I get to heaven?” Good question.

The Bible said that there is only one way to get to heaven. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the father but by me.” (John 14:6). Jesus already paid your sins on the cross of Calvary where He died, but the good thing is, he did not remain in the grave but he rose up again on the third day and offered His blood once for all. Jesus loves you so much that he made the way to heaven simple for you. Scriptures says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved” (Acts16:31), “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise” (Ephesians 1:13). Please analyze the verse, what have you trusted? After ye heard the word of truth, then what is the word of truth? The gospel of your salvation. What is the gospel that can bring you to HEAVEN?

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 says, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Note the phrase “according to the scriptures”. Now you already know the gospel, the Bible says, after that ye believed then what next? You were sealed of that holy spirit of promise.

There is no work that we can do to receive eternal life. This salvation is by grace alone. It is a free gift upon this belief. Once this salvation is given by believing in the gospel of salvation, then you are sealed with the promise of the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. (Ephesians 4:30) “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”

There is no evidence in Scripture that the Lord can or will “unseal” a believer. Our salvation is as secure as the promise of the Giver of life. His promises have NEVER failed.

You must believe the sufficiency of the gospel, the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is already sufficient to take away all your sins from past, present and future. (Romans 6:23) “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”, (Ephesians 2:8-9) “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”. It is a gift from God to anyone that believes in the gospel. The sufficiency of the gospel of Christ is the only way of God to enter heaven, the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. No good works. No religion and tradition. No “sinner’s prayer.” Not acceptance. Jesus said, “It is finished.” All you need to do is to acknowledge and believe it.  (2 Timothy 2:25) “In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Man cannot live in the presence of a Holy God unless he is sinless and perfect. Since we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, (Rom.3:23), He has provided the world a reconciliation to Him through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We have access to God by believing from our heart in His one great sacrifice for us on the cross. Just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved!

It is in yourself to decide whether to believe these things or not, but, remember that your decision will not change the fact that you will die sooner or later. You can never tell because DEATH IS SURE and HELL IS REAL. Every hour, minute, everyday a lot of people dying and one day in your life, you will face death. You’ll never know when you die, maybe later or tomorrow, you can never tell. So while you still have time, while you are still in your right mind, think about it. The way is so simple, just believe with all your heart the sufficiency of His death, burial and resurrection then you will have eternal life. But if you reject these things, you will wake up one day, burning in hell forever and ever. “…behold, now is the day of salvation,)” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
